Main power generation instruments such as Turbine and Generator and all auxiliary instruments such as HRSG
Masan Port – Hangang River Jetty – Pocheon Power Plant construction site
KCTC has been the sole logistics service provider for main and auxiliary instruments of the 3 construction companies for Pocheon Combined Thermoelectric Power Plant from 2013 to 2017.
KCTC has been playing a key role in the construction of the power plants, which is the nation’s key industry, by providing expeditious and safe one-stop logistics services extending from handling of general cargoes to super heavy cargoes, and from import ships’ cargo handling to coastal transportation and overland route transportation.
The instruments were loaded and taken from Masan Port to go past Gyeongin Ara Waterway through seaway transportation by a barge ship. They were unloaded in Hangang River’s Jetty, and then, KCTC transported the instruments by traversing Jayu-ro Road which has 10 lanes both ways after closing down the road. After that, the super heavy instruments traveled about 100km on the road and safely arrived at the construction site.
Furthermore, during the process, KCTC built our own Jetty on the Hangang River to safely unload the turbines and generators that weigh over 300 tons. KCTC also built a new bridge to make a detour around streams or other obstacles. KCTC has successfully collaborated with the construction companies to complete the large-scale construction project.
KCTC has offered creative logistics solutions including transportation through Ara Waterway that no one has ever tried, traversing Jayu-ro, and making long-distance overland route transportation to the mountainous inland regions. Thanks to such creativity, KCTC has become the leader in Korea’s heavy cargo transportation sector. Also, with its rich experience and outstanding expertise, KCTC is advancing its heavy cargo transportation service to the world beyond Korea.
